Oh the Love Month is upon us. Valentine's Day is one of my favorites- who would have guessed given my last name is Hart? :) In elementary school, I loved picking out which Valentine's cards I would send my classmates and hoped and prayed a card from Ricky Schroeder of Silver Spoons would magically appear in my mailbox. Now I see Valentine's Day as a time to just simply celebrate love, laughter and life. So whether you treat yourself to those new shoes you've been eyeing, spend time with friends or step out of your comfort zone and smile at that cutie in your building - February is the perfect time to do so! Throw away your notions that Valentine's Day is a Hallmark Cards conspiracy and get out there and have fun!

We hope you enjoy browsing through our dating articles, dating advice, inspirational success stories, recommended links and loooove horoscopes.

"Love is the irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired."

We hope to see you soon!!

Sincerely,

What is a good thing to do on a first date? I'm not sure how things are going to go so I want to do something fun but not commit to a long night. - Alex

I always think the first date should be kept simple and short. We often get caught up in these romantic notions that we must come up with these amazing day-long dates when we're not even sure if we are going to have a good time. Why chance it? Pick a weeknight or lunch hour - a time frame that has a limit. Keep the conversation light and interesting. There will be plenty of times to visit romantic restaurants and drive out to the mountains for the day if you two really hit it off. Focus on good times not long times for the first date.

zodiac Hi Christine

We thought we should pass along some great news to you. Gary and I met at the wine tasting at Kensington in August last year. We immediately hit it off and starting dating, enjoying each other's company more and more as we got to know each other. We soon realized that we were meant for each other and meant to be together and Gary proposed to me in December. Our wedding is June 25.

Gary and I lived about 5 minutes away from each other in the City and we both enjoy many of the same activities - I am sure we must have passed each other on the bike trails. But as a tribute to your service, we didn't meet until we attended one of your events. Thank you to everyone at Six Minute Dates for providing this great service.

Kathy

zodiac FEBRUARY 2006

Libra - If you go out to dinner on the 1st, don't be surprised if the waiter brings your steak with a double order of relationship talks. Yep, you and your dining companion might not have had any idea that you were in for a dinner filled with issues, but you are. So, who is being discussed? You? Them? The two of you? Hmmm? On the 4th and 5th, you're glowing like a crystal ball, and you might even have a vision or two about the future. Sure looks shiny! On the 11th and 12th, you and your buddies are in for some mighty interesting, eye-opening and mind-boggling talks about your perspectives on romance. Don't feel pressured to make plans on the 14th; in fact, you might find yourself celebrating St. Valentine a few days late, on the 16th or 17th. On the 23rd, don't forget that if you're in low spirits, you won't feel terribly romantic. Then on the 26th, ready yourself -- for romance!

Scorpio - You wake up on the 1st feeling like a million romantic bucks. What, you ask, are romantic bucks? Well, they're like dollar bills, except they're colored red and pink. Really! And they're good for trading on the Love Market (like NASDAQ, but for not-for-profit entities). Stop questioning it, and enjoy! You're in for a pretty high-flying month. On the 4th and 5th, be flexible -- and don't put all your eggs (or all your romantic bucks) in one basket. Prepare yourself for a teensy-weensy problem that might arise late in the evening of the 10th -- heck, even romantic moguls have domestic disputes sometimes. On the 14th, plan a surprise date and you'll blow them away. Then on the 19th, you take the romantic equivalent of champagne baths. Be careful on the 21st -- risking your heart is a risk, you know! And on the 25th and 26th, turn to an older and wiser person for a little bit of old-fashioned advice, you romantic buckaroo, you!

Sagittarius - By the time the dinner hour rolls around on the 1st, you are in a 'Wow, I could kiss the whole world!' kind of mood. You feel good! You look hot! People think you're sexy! And you return the compliments! What do they put in those veggie sandwiches you eat, anyway? You'd better ask the waiter, because whatever it is (maybe extra parsley, or triple the mint, or a dash of curry?), it's working for you. You could meet the individual of your dreams on the 2nd, or you could meet them on the 3rd, or perhaps the 4th. Or you might meet them later. But either way, you're very likely to meet them this month -- that is, if you don't know them already. On the 9th, you feel a little off, but don't worry about it too much. On the 14th, you feel great! Call up that special somebody for an impromptu Valentine's Day dinner. You might want to be alone on the 19th. But you're back in an 'I want to chat with you all night long' mode for the 21st and 22nd, then again on the 26th. On the 28th, take a breather from all this affection!

Capricorn - You could wake up from an especially lovely dream the morning of the 1st and suddenly realize something -- that you feel awfully romantic toward somebody. Hey, great! Write down whatever comes to you as soon as you get out of bed. It could help you win this person's heart. On the 5th, get ready: Somebody might step out of your dreams and into your life. Whew! The night of the 10th, then the 11th and 12th, you could have a series of annoying little problems. Stay graceful, and you'll overcome a long-standing romantic hurdle! On the 14th, make a plan -- any plan -- and invite your love, or potential love. Take a long, hard look inside yourself on the 19th, then on the 23rd, relax -- you're in for a fun, fantastic day, followed by another on the 24th. On the 28th, pay attention to your dreams again. They could help you in your quest for smooching!

Aquarius -You spend the morning of the 1st feeling pretty darned mystical -- like you have a romantic vision. And you most likely do. So go ahead and follow your heart where it leads -- it has a pretty good compass built in, you know. On the 2nd, you see some patterns. Who do you love, and how? Yep, the answers to these questions could really come in handy down the road (of love). The 8th, 9th and 10th could be an emotional few days. That's a good thing, even if it feels a little difficult. On the 14th, take a hard look at what you want. Then on the 19th, sit quietly when any sentiments come to the surface. On the 24th, discipline that pretty little heart of yours, and on the 26th, you're extraordinarily pleased with your disciplined heart. Heck, you've earned this! And of all the folks out there, you probably appreciate it the most.

Pisces - You may have a hard time getting out of bed the morning of the 2nd. And maybe it's less because you're all snuggled in your covers, and more because you're feeling a shocked 'Oh no, where is all this going?' kind of sentiment. Well, go ahead and get up. Turn off the alarm and take a brisk walk around the block. Why? Because there's a whole lot of romance out there waiting for you! By Friday night (the 3rd), you have an idea what all this means. Then on the 4th and 5th, it will be even clearer. You could receive a letter that looks almost like the love-influenced kind on the 9th or 10th (if you didn't get it by quick delivery the 5th); it will clarify a lot. Don't fret if the 14th is a tad heavy. On the 20th, you could feel wishy-washy during the day, but things might become crystal clear when it's time for a carrot-juice nightcap. On the 24th, take the lead in a potential partnership, and on the 28th, get ready to really relish some romance.

Aries -So maybe you feel anything but romantic the morning of the 1st. Maybe you feel grouchy, tired and generally out of sorts. Well, don't take it out on the dog or the cat or anybody who happens to be sharing your pillow. Instead, get up and go to the mirror, and make a couple of frowns and 'I feel lousy' expressions in the mirror. Then brush your teeth. By the time evening rolls around, you'll feel much better. This is a good romantic lesson, as well: Something may feel terrible at the moment, but that doesn't mean it will be that way forever. The 6th, 7th and 8th are a couple of great, flirtatious days for you. However, the 14th and 15th could be dull (especially if you don't make Valentine's Day plans!). On the 20th, you're wrapped up in heavy-duty emotional stuff until about quarter to 10 at night, when you see someone across the pub (or the room) who sets your mind on a whole new track. On the 25th and 26th, you get whatever you want

Taurus - On the 1st, spend some time sending missives that describe the state of your heart to your friends. For one thing, they want to know what's going on with you. For another, they could provide helpful advice. On the 3rd, make sure you set up a date with that object of your affection -- dinner and a movie is bound to go swimmingly. The 4th and 5th bring more of the same -- whether you two head to the ice-skating rink or rub noses in the park, it's bound to be enjoyable. On the 10th, spend the daylight (and early evening) hours communicating, and then at about 11 p.m., watch out! If you aren't careful, you could be in for a late-night power struggle. It looks like there's romance on your calendar the 14th, and on the 19th, those feelings could take a turn toward serious. By the 23rd, you see things from a whole new perspective. On the 27th and 28th, it's time to check back in with your social circle.

Gemini - So what do you want out of romance, anyway? Would you like someone to cook for? Or someone to cook for you? Do you want to share the cooking? What about the dishes? What about feelings? What about chemistry? Spend the daylight hours of the 1st thinking about this stuff (heck, don't worry if it's a little muddy -- it always is!) and at night, hold a roundtable discussion with your friends. Maybe they can help! On the 5th, a romantic obstacle may arrive, and on the 6th, 7th and early morning hours of the 8th, you're having a heck of a good time. You could have a hard time communicating on the 13th, 14th and 15th, however, so go easy on yourself if a misunderstanding arises. On the 21st and 22nd, it's time to get down to brass tacks with a partner type of your choice (or a potential partner type of your choice). On the 27th and 28th, go back to pondering a few complicated 'what do I want?' questions.

Cancer - All day long on the 1st, you daydream. Go ahead -- daydream away. It's a fantastic means of discovery. Just what do you really, really want? By the time evening rolls around on the 1st, you switch from daydreamer to doer -- just don't hurry too much, or you could skip an important step (like asking them out before you declare your undying love). On the 5th and 6th, you have an idea that's nuttier than peanut butter, and your object of affection wants to be your peanut-butter cup. What a piece of luck! On the 8th, 9th and 10th, you two are so sweet that you could brand your very own line of specialty chocolates (start with peanut butter, chewy caramel and coconut flavors). On the 14th, be sure to say what's on your mind, and on the 19th, be careful -- you're in danger of going out to buy the entire chocolate factory. You two might need to do a little more product-testing first. So rent a movie together on the 23rd, and stay home and eat chocolates! Get ready for great energy on the 28th.

Leo - On the 1st, get ready to roll out of bed and learn something brand-new. Whether it's an innovative stretch or a smooch you've never experienced, it's going to help your romantic life this month, in what could be a very big way! On the 2nd, you might roll out of bed and into ... the arms of a beautiful stranger? Heck, it could be. On the 7th, talk to your friends about those lovelike feelings you think you're having, and see if anybody recognizes the symptoms. On the 12th, well -- if love were the flu, you'd have to spend all day in bed. Plan an inexpensive (but not cheap, of course) date for the 14th, and on the 17th, you two go together like doctor and stethoscope. What a pair! On the 23rd, do something healthy for yourself; then get creative on the 28th. Bet you never knew you were such a whiz, did you?

Virgo - Something to keep in mind the morning of the 1st: Just because you know a certain fact doesn't mean your current crush knows that you know it. And if you tell them in a less-than-sweet way, they might not get the message. So instead of, 'Heck, you moron, I know you love me,' why not try something like batting your lashes and inviting them to coffee. On the 5th, they might realize just how compatible you two are. See, they aren't so dumb! Get organized on the 10th. Yes, organization can be romantic! On the 14th, it pays off -- how many other couples do you know who got to have a candlelit Valentine's Day safari at the petting zoo? None! On the 19th, if there's something to communicate, heck, you definitely do it. Then on the 23rd, you two are in for more romance than you thought possible! On the 28th, the mood is the same as it was on the 1st: Be gentle, and they'll see you're right.
