I always think the first date should be kept simple and short. We often get caught up in these romantic notions that must come up with these amazing day-long dates when we're not even sure if we are going to have a good time. Why chance it? Pick a weeknight or lunch hour - a time frame that has a limit. Keep the conversation light and interesting. There will be plenty of times to visit romantic restaurants and drive out to the mountains for the day if you two really hit it off. Focus on good times not long times for the first date.
